ALEXIS (in tears) Yeah, they keep fighting and fighting, I don't even know what for. I don't want to be a part of this anymore, when they leave they always get angry at me, and I've never done anything. JACK Did you have a talk with them, like I told you to? ALEXIS (raises her voice) I didn't bother, they're not going to listen to me. I've got to get out of here, I feel so fucking depressed. I hate this, I hate life. F- JACK Look, I know I say this often but everything will work out. Have you got somewhere to go right now? ALEXIS Yeah, Aunt said I could stay there until all this is over. She gives the coins to the begger. BEGGER (smiles and said in glee) Thank you. There's not many girls like you around. ALEXIS (about to leave, looks at her watch and decides to talk) That's okay. Living on the streets must be tough. BEGGER It is now, people used to care. No one does anymore. ALEXIS Tell me about it... BEGGER What's wrong dear? ALEXIS I'm just having troubles at home, I'm going to my auntie's house in Glebe. BEGGER A runaway eh? Be careful, you don't want to end up like me. I was in the same... Her phone calls, fumbles getting it out of her bag. ALEXIS (tearing up) I've... I've got to go, sorry. BEGGER (annoyed) Take care. ALEXIS (tears) Where are you? JACK Alex? What's happened now? ALEXIS (angry) Where are you! Look, I just want to go home. I ran into some hobo and he said he was in the same position I was in, I don't want to be that. JACK Look, my car's fucked, but I'll get to your aunt's, I'll meet you there alright? I'll bring ice cream or something. I don't want you catching the bus though, got enough for a taxi? ALEXIS (checks her bag) .... damn. JACK Yeah? ALEXIS All I have is 5, I forgot my wallet. I'll get the bus, I'll be fine. JACK Wait for me, I'll give you a call soon when I get there. BUS The bus has a lot of people in it (giving the stalker a place to hide on the bus). Alex gets on the bus, and gives her 5 dollars to the bus driver in payment of her ticket. ALEXIS Child to Glebe thanks. BUS DRIVER That's 90 cents. Have a good night. ALEXIS I'll try to. Thanks. She places herself on an empty seat next to the window, sighs and looks outside. In it we she her reflection and she looks forlorn. The bus starts to take off. Alexis gets a call on her mobile. MOTHER Alexis. Where are you? We're worried about you! ALEXIS No you're not, you hadn't even realised I've been gone for half an hour. I'm going to Aunts. I'm staying there until you guys sort your problems out. MOTHER No dammit. You're coming back. We may be fighting but we love you. I forbid you to go to Anne's, you're coming back home right now. We're picking you up, where are you. ALEXIS No, you're not. Look, I may be a child but I'm old enough to know when things aren't alright. Fix things up with dad and I'll come back. I can't handle it. MOTHER Dammit Alexis, I'm your mother, and you're going home. I don't fucking care if you think you are old, we're your parents and dammit we're going to--- Alex throws her phone down on the ground. The screen breaks, leaving her without a phone. She has tears and anger, and it finally hits her. Jack can't call her ALEXIS (gasp) Jack... The whole bus looks at her but she ignores this. The bus gets to her destination and she runs out. She doesn't notice anyone else in the bus. SCENE 4: EXT. BUS STOP Camera pans out from the bus exit, we see a few people get off the bus following Alexis, and the last person is a shadowy figure. The camera follows her walking down a lightly lit street and she begins to realise she is being followed. She increases her pace up, and the camera starts to chase her. As Alexis picks up the pace, she stumbles and gets back up. She's in front of her Auntie's house. ALEXIS Aunt Anne! Hey. Hey!!! Her Aunt runs out the front door in her pyjamas. During this time, the stalker catches up with Alexis and pulls out a knife. In a flurry of events, he turns the knife on Anne and garrotes her throat. Anne falls down. ALEXIS (gasping) No! What have you done? You monster. Realising she can't do anything now, she attempts to run the other way from the attacker. The attacker tackles her to the ground and froces himself and the knife to her throat. JACK (yelling) Fuck ya. Jack kicks the attacker in the head, which throws back the attacker to the ground. Jack stomps on the hand with the knife and kicks the knife away. JACK Alexis, run. Run! The attacker gets back up and his face is finally lit, it's the begger from the street. He grunts and runs towards the direction of the knife. Jack runs the same direction and is faster and slide tackles from the side, bringing the assailant down. Jack jumps on him, but gets punched in the face. Recoiling from the punch, the assailant gets away. Jack takes out his phone and calls the police. STORYBOARD: Scene 1: Bedroom (Int.)
